This project has received funding from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking (now Clean Hydrogen Partnership) under Grant Agreement No 779606. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program, Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research.

European cities can become living labs for the demonstration of Fuel Cell and Hydrogen (FCH) technologies, starting with their use in niche but everyday applications such as temporary gensets deployed at construction sites, music festivals, and other temporary events. These everyday applications can also help promote FCH technologies and increase their social acceptance among a wider audience.

The EVERYWH2ERE project integrates already demonstrated, robust PEMFC stacks and lightweight, intrinsically safe, pressurized hydrogen technologies into easy-to-install, easy-to-transport, FC-based portable gensets. Six containerized “plug-and-play” FC gensets (3 × 25 kW and 3 × 100 kW) were tested on construction sites, at music festivals, and at urban public events across Europe.

EVERYWH2ERE MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Design, engineering, production, and industrial lab validation of FC-equipped gensets
  • Demonstration campaign throughout the EU
  • Three replicability studies for the use of the gensets in new contexts (ports, emergency sites, etc.)
  • Identification of further steps (certification, marketing, performance enhancements, etc.) toward rapid marketability of EVERYWH2ERE gensets and promotion through an E-Handbook
  • Detailed business, logistics, and environmental analysis (Support Tool)
  • Strong dissemination and stakeholder engagement campaign (cities, event industry, etc.)
